REPORT OF LANDMARK UNIVERSITY FACULTY WITH RED CROSS IREPODUN, OMU-ARAN KWARA STATE.

This is the report of the activities of the Nigerian Red Cross Irepodun Division (Omu-Aran) in the year 2023.

During the general election in Nigeria on 25th February and 11th March 2023, the Red Cross was fully involved. Materials were provided for members who were on standby should any cases of emergency from the polling booths (Picture 1).

The Palp Sunday rally by Christians which took place on the 2nd April, 2023 was an event which the society gave its full support by ensuring safety of lives. The rally started by 9:00 am at Christ Apostolic Church in Omu-Aran. The rally was successful without any causality (Picture 2). 

On 1st May 2023, the society embark on a road walk round Omu-Aran community as part of its program for the International Red Cross week. See picture as evidence of the said activity (Picture 3). Also, the society paid a visit to Hallelujah Academy on 5th May, 2023. Hallelujah Academy is a secondary school in Omu-Aran. The visit was to intimate the students in the school the activities of the International Red Cross Society (Picture 4).

Other activities by the branch are as presented below with dates:

  • A courtesy visit to Landmark University on the 16th May 2023 (Picture 5)
  • A courtesy visit to the palace of Olomu of Omu-Aran on the 17th May 2023 (Picture 6) 
  • Awareness on World Food Safety Day with Landmark University at Ago-oru, Omu-Aran Market on 7th June 2023 (Picture 7)

We thank God for his grace so far at the Irepodun Branch of the Nigerian Red Cross. The branch is working assiduously to organize more events before the end of the year.
