The celebration of 2023 World Water Day themed “Accelerating Change” commenced with a visit by members of the SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) Research group of Landmark University to Kwara State Water Works located at Oko Road, Omuaran. The visit was targeted towards collaboration with the state and the local government to resuscitate her dying water supply to the community.
In the focus on accelerating change, a campaign on water management and sanitation was carried out within the university community as well as strategic areas of the Omuaran community. This campaign succeeded in sensitizing the people on water pollution, management, conservation, and the importance of water protection and sustainability. This was done via public speaking and the use of placards with inscriptions to educate the populace.
