Update on collection of data for Groups 1 and 4 were provided and it was reported that data
have been collected with the help of research assistance and that immediate attention had been
given to ensure that the data are analysed and reported for possible publication. The
Coordinator however encouraged the remaining group to turn in their instrument so that data
can be collected likewise.
It was resolved that subgroups on entrepreneurial activities should be created in order to
empower some disadvantaged members of the community thereby driving reduced inequalities
goal in our immediate community. On that note, three committees were instituted and these
include Awareness, Education and Skill Acquisition Committees. The Awareness committee
will focus on creating awareness about the need to reduce inequality and possibly place posters
in strategic places in town. The Education Committee will aim at focusing on secondary school
students and teach them on how they can bridge inequality gap. The Skill Acquisition
Committee will centre on empowering some disadvantaged members of communities possibly
on how to make soap, or how to engage in small scale businesses. The Coordinator encouraged
the subgroup members to prepare adequately for these events.
