BETWEEN

LANDMARK UNIVERSITY, OMU-ARAN

AND

CLIMATE SMART AGRICULTURE YOUTH NETWORK GLOBAL (GCSAYN)

DATED: 17^THDAY OF MARCH 2023

MoU Between GCSAYN & Landmark University

This MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (hereinafter referred to as “MOU”) is made on the 17^th day of March two thousand and twenty-three.

BY and BETWEEN

Landmark University, a Private University in Nigeria, with address Km. 4 Ipetu Omu-Aran Road, P.M.B 1001, Omu-Aran, Kwara State, Nigeria and represented by her Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Charity O. Aremu

AND

GLOBAL CLIMATE SMART AGRICULTURE YOUTH NETWORK registered in Cameroon with address P. O. Box 8860 Yaoundé, Cameroon, established on the 1^stMay 2014 and represented by its Founding President, Mr. Ntiokam Divine is hereinafter referred to as GCSAYN. GCSAYN is a signatory to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).

WHEREAS, on the basis of mutual trust, the Parties enter into this MOU with the aim of advancing partnerships and collaborations

AND WHEREAS the parties have held consultative meetings at which matters relating and incidental to mutual areas of collaboration have been discussed and have expressed the desire to work together in a partnership in areas that shall include, but not limited, those outline in this MOU.

1. PURPOSE AND SCOPE

While Landmark University as a tertiary education institution focused on student-centered learning, is mandated to perform:

i) Multidisciplinary education and training in Sciences and Technology at undergraduate and post graduate levels

ii) Research and product development with participation of the community and its governors, institutions, and enterprises.

iii) Multidisciplinary education and training combined with Research and Development (R&D) a research outfit of Landmark University

And

GCSAYN, a group of volunteers that have a strong interest in climate smart agriculture and the environment. The group members strive to educate younger generations on increasing productivity, climate change adaptation and mitigation where possible. The network links volunteers across the world.

Therefore

Together, the parties enter into this Memorandum of Understanding to educate youth around the world on topics of agriculture, climate change, adaptation, mitigation, health and other solutions.

2. AREAS OF COLLABORATON

The Parties agree that:

Landmark University will:

– Inform the staff, students, neighboring primary, secondary and partner tertiary institutions about GCSAYN (content, courses, apps, videos) and its various activities and encouraging them to take advantage of the opportunities.

– Include a backlink to GCSAYN and its partner institutions (courses and videos) on her website (of partner institution) including images and course information, relevant links, clearly crediting the collaboration.

– Introduce GCSAYN to the existing partners if requested.

– Encourage student participation and mentorship/internship from Landmark University, surrounding primary and secondary schools and partner Institutions.

– Encourage staff and student exchange, joint research and proposal and development. – Encourage the sharing of equipment and innovations.

– Provides GCSAYN with an office for the monitoring and evaluation of activities whenever they are available and NOT a permanent office and at NO COST.

GCSAYN will:

– Inform its partner Universities and associated students about Landmark University (content, courses, app, and videos) and its various activities and encouraging them to take advantage of the opportunities.

– Include links to Landmark University content (courses and videos) on their website and in their programs, for example, including images and course information, relevant links, clearly crediting Landmark University.

– Introduce Landmark University to its existing partners if requested

– Include Landmark University’s logo on their website – https:/www/csaynglobal.org/ – Encourage student participation and mentorship/internship from Landmark University, and partner Institutions.

– Encourage staff and student exchange, joint research proposal and development between partner institutions.

– In partnership with Landmark University, promote and implement the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in rural areas

– Encourage the sharing of equipment and innovations.

Landmark University and GCSAYN will:

Maintain clear and consistent communication, ensuring to keep each other informed on any developments concerning the partnership. Explore possibility of further collaborations, as and when possible, keep each other informed of relevant opportunities.

3. ADMINISTRATION OF THE MOU

Accordingly, Landmark University and GCSAYN, operating under this MOU agree as follows that: ● Each party is responsible for its own expenses related to this MOU and at NO cost to LMU. ● Each party, to all extent, will bear its own costs and expenses (including fees and expenses of any third party engaged in it), related to carrying out their respective activities arising from this

Agreement, except where agreed otherwise in writing on an executive level between GCSAYN and Landmark University. Except where there is a grant to cover such expenses where necessary.

4. TERM

The term of this MOU is 5 years from the effective date of signing this agreement. It shall be reviewed annually to ensure that it is fulfilling its purpose and to make any necessary revisions. Either party may terminate this MOU upon thirty (30) days written notice without penalties or liabilities.

5. AUTHORIZATION

The signing of this MOU is not a formal undertaking. It implies that the signatories will strive to reach, to the best of their ability, the objectives stated in the MOU

6. EXECUTION CLAUSE

IN WITNESS WHEREOF the parties hereunto append their signatures on this 17^thday of March 2023.
