As an educational institution with a responsibility to lead by example, Landmark University Omu-Aran, Nigeria recognizes the vital importance of terrestrial ecosystems as the basis for life. Landmark University Omu-Aran, Nigeria is committed to establishing a comprehensive conservation, restoration, and sustainable use policy for terrestrial ecosystems on campus.

LMU recognizes that the preservation and responsible management of the ecosystems aligns with her vision to spear head agrarian revolution in Africa. We acknowledge the urgent need to address global challenges such as climate change, habitat loss, and the decline of biodiversity. By implementing this policy, we aspire to be a catalyst for positive change, a hub for ecological research and knowledge dissemination, and a model for sustainable practices. It is our aim to promote practices that prioritize conservation, restoration, and sustainable use, taking into account the principles of ecological integrity, social equity, and economic viability.

In adherence to this vision, Landmark University, Omu-Aran Nigeria will seek to:

  1. Conserve and protect terrestrial ecosystems associated with our campus, including those within our property boundaries.
  2. Restore and rehabilitate degraded ecosystems to their natural state, striving to increase their resilience in the face of environmental challenges.
  3. Promote the responsible and sustainable use of our terrestrial resources, emphasizing responsible land management and sustainable land use practices.
  4. Support and engage in research, education, and outreach efforts related to terrestrial ecosystem conservation, restoration, and sustainability.
  5. Foster collaboration with local, national, and international organizations, communities, and governments to collectively address ecological and environmental issues.

Our university is dedicated to engaging our entire community—students, faculty, staff, and partners—in the shared goal of terrestrial ecosystem conservation. Through research, education, advocacy, and practice, we will work tirelessly to ensure a future where these ecosystems thrive for generations to come.

We at Landmark University Omu-Aran are committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility, and to being a beacon of inspiration for our community and the wider world. As a community, we are committed to protecting, restoring, and sustaining the terrestrial ecosystems that enrich our lives, our campus, and our planet.
