Collaboration visit to Irepodun Local Government

This report documents the courtesy visit to Hon. Azeez Tinuola, Chairman of Irepodun Local
Government Area, on 6th October 2024. The visit aimed to foster collaboration, discuss
challenges related to the hike in electricity tariffs, explore future measures (such as
introducing solar energy), and convey community concerns. The delegation was led by Dr.
Aliyu, SD7 Champion, and included executive committee members.
The primary objectives of the visit were to:

  1. Strengthen the relationship between the Landmark University community and the
    local government administration.
  2. Present pressing community issues and concerns to the Chairman.
  3. Seek the Chairman’s support and permission to conduct public lectures and raise
    awareness on clean and affordable energy solutions, particularly solar energy.
    Meeting Proceedings
    The Chairman graciously welcomed the delegation and expressed his appreciation for the
    visit, emphasizing the significance of regular engagements with the community. He provided
    an overview of the local government’s ongoing efforts in development and community
    welfare and addressed various pressing topics, including: Electricity Tariff Concerns and

Initiatives. The Chairman further gave approval for a public lecture to be powered by
Landmark University SDG 7 to enlighten the community on Clean and Affordable Energy.

Conclusion
The delegation expressed deep gratitude to Hon. Azeez Tinuola for his time, his attentive
approach to community concerns, and his commitment to addressing the issues presented.
The Chairman’s open-mindedness and collaborative spirit reinforced a sense of partnership
