Landmark Student Development Office Career Exposition & Fair 2024

With the approval of Management, the directorate through the student development office held the 2024 edition of the “Career Exposition & Fair” on Friday 10th May, 2024 for all students. The programme was designed to espoused and prepare the graduating students for the world of works with the theme: The Future of Work: Skills & Competencies. The programme had in present veteran professionals within the Human Resource Management sector in Nigeria who ensured to demystify the theme to our kings and queens, ultimately building them as competitive talents (prospective employees) with the necessary skillset to becoming employable immediately after graduation both nationally and internationally as follows;
- Mr. Gbenga Totoyi, the Group Head, Human Resources, Consolidated Hallmark Insurance & Partner, Alan&Grant, speaking into the theme, in an expository on the Future of Work, made participants (students’ attendees) realized that the Future is now, noting the role of Artificial Intelligence and the skills needed to blaze the trail at the workplace.
- Mr. Jayeola Okuazun, the Executive Director, Business Apple spoke to the students on; Leveraging Technology/Innovation for the Future of Work – Landing Global Opportunities/Gigs. Students at this session, learnt what it takes to use/engage technology in order to help them become globally employable.
- The students learnt how to engage the Graduate Trainee Programmes in gaining entry-level jobs within the Oil & Gas, banking, financial services, FMCGs and Non-governmental sectors as shared by the third Facilitator, Ms. Chinenye Agwuncha, a certified Human Resource Professional.
- The Fair also had in present Human Resource Firms who took our kings and queens in a Career Clinic session, helping the students understand their personality types and the career paths for the same, nitty gritty of Resume/CV writing.
- The Fair garnered maximum participation of our kings and queens in learning, thereby bridging the gap between class and industry through the duration of the entire programme with about 420 students in attendance.
