The day preceding the world water day i.e the 21st March, 2023 was engaged by the team to embark on a visit to the Omu Aran water distribution outlet, Irepodun Local government of Kwara state, Nigeria. The visit was gingered by the desire to collaborate with the Local government in order to address the epileptic water supply to the Omu Aran community. A member of staff of the water distribution outlet led the team on a tour to the water source, processing/treatment plants and the general facilities. The team noted various challenges that needed urgent attention for LMU Management actions. The team also enlightened the members of staff of the water distribution outlet on the 2023 World water day celebration message i.e Accelerating Change to solve the water and sanitation problem. The staff of the establishment appreciated the team for the move to support them for a better delivery.

LMU SDG 6 took the message of Accelerating Change to solve the water and sanitation problem to the Omu Aran community on the 22nd of March, 2023. Massages of water/water source conservation, water security, water management etc were explicitly communicated via placards and campaign.

The outreach concluded with the distribution of table water to some members of the Omu Aran community.
