NIAE VISITS LMU, PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR THE UNIVERSITY’S AGRARIAN VISION

The executives of the Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE), Kwara State Chapter, paid a courtesy visit to Landmark University on Friday, 15th September 2017.

The team of engineers, comprising individuals from various agric-related institutions such as NCAM, NISPR, UNILORIN and KWASU were received at the Chancellor’s Boardroom by members of the University Management ably led by the Vice-Chancellor, Engr. Professor Adeniyi Olayanju. 

The Vice-Chancellor, while welcoming them on behalf of the Chancellor, Dr David Oyedepo, reiterated the relevance of engineering to actualizing the agrarian vision of the University, stating that mechanization is essential to effectively explore the mother earth and totally restore the dignity of the black man. He said the vision of the University has been the very cynosure attracting well-meaning individuals and organizations both locally and internationally because of its global significance. He, therefore, assured the institution of the University’s commitment to advancing the frontiers of the agrarian vision through progressive collaboration.

The National Vice Chairman of NIAE, Engr (Dr) J. O. Olaoye, who led the team said their visit was informed by a bifocal goal which is to identify with the Vice-Chancellor – a member of NIAE – and the University, which has a vision that is in tandem with the mandate of their institution. Also, he said, “We believe so much that the choice of the proprietor to have Professor Olayanju at the helm of affairs of this University is for him to translate the vision into reality”.

The State Chairman of NIAE, Engr. (Dr.) O.A. Ogunjirin, in his own response, noted that the choice of the Vice-Chancellor has opened unlimited collaborative channels between the institution and Landmark University both locally and nationally. He, therefore, requested the Vice-Chancellor to be the Guest Speaker at their Convention at NCAM, Ilorin come November 2017. 

As a mark of their solidarity, the institution presented the Vice-Chancellor a beautiful congratulatory message card while the University’s souvenirs were presented to them by the Vice-Chancellor.
